How long can the server operate without utility power? E-mail

The server will run on the UPS battery for approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on number of hard drives that are installed and the load on the server during the power outage.  The UPS will also power your DSL modem and your network hub or switch so that it can still provide services while utility power is off.

We test the UPS for a few seconds every 2 weeks to ensure that it is operating properly and is ready to take over should the utility power fail. In addition, we replace the UPS battery every 24 months so as to maintain maximum running time.
